Bruises On Paper originated when I was 9 years.
I began writing in journals as an escape from abuse. I turned to pencil and paper during a time when I wasn’t allowed to speak but writing became the ultimate listener. I wasn’t aware of how much this practice was saving my life when I was dying. At 10 I wrote my first poem and it was suicide note and then, I oddly fell in love with poetry.
This show will be a safe space for anyone to come and be amongst others that will share their stories of struggle and triumph. Whether you are a poet or a supporter and would just like to engage in dialogue on the show topic, all are welcome.
I believe we all have stories that have found their way to notebook sheets and stages.
Let’s build a community structured with 360 wellness (body, mind and spirit) as a priority.
This is a spirit driven mission and I’d be honored to have all of you apart of it.
